President Trump recently sent out an order to suspend our country’s refugee program and temporarily ban immigration from seven mostly-Muslim nations. This decision erupted into a full-scale political battle. Many nationwide protests broke out across the nation, and congressional Democrats vowed a relentless Capitol Hill fight to undo the order. This is quite astonishing because many Democrats seem to not even care to put the safety of our American citizens first. Instead, they want to bring numerous amounts of refugees into our country, while they are not helping the American people in any way at all.
“America is a proud nation of immigrants, and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression. But we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border,” Trump said Sunday afternoon. The media is continuously falsely reporting this as a Muslim ban. Trump is making it his first priority to protect the American people, as he should. Trump’s goal as president is to protect all who are suffering, but the needs of the American people come first. As hundreds of protestors marched in Washington and many other cities across the country to protest to Trump’s “extreme vetting,” Trump stated “This is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting. …My first priority will always be to protect and serve our country, but as president I will find ways to help all those who are suffering.” Many of the leftist Democrats continue to say that Trump is racist because of this, but it does not make any logical sense that people would be offended over Trump putting first the needs of the American people.
Trump’s “extreme vetting” resulted this weekend in many foreign visitors and some legal permanent U.S. residents being detained at domestic airports. It is quite nice that we now have a president who is truly doing the best he can to protect the American people.
As another result of this, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N. Y., held a press conference with some immigrant families of all different ages who were impacted by the bans and vowed to fight them on Capitol Hill “with every fiber of my being.” Again, Trump is only putting the needs of the American people first, and that is what he needs to be doing. Obama never truly did this, and it is good that we now have a president who truly cares for his people.
Also, Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., claimed she would introduce two bills on Monday. One would be to revoke Trump’s order, while the other would be to give Congress a more powerful oversight of President Trump’s immigration authority. People freaking out about this is incredibly uncalled for, because now is a time that we need to be strict on borders and immigration. There is no such thing as a country without borders. A powerful country will only survive with borders.
Then Rep. Lou Correa, a Democratic Rep. said the executive orders on illegal immigration “directly challenge the right to due process under the Constitution” and that he’ll introduce legislation to fund legal aid to those who are so called “targeted.” It is difficult for me to even wrap my mind around the fact that so many Democrats want to keep allowing illegal immigrants into our country. It is not safe to just allow in many people from all over the world who are not even documented anywhere.
On Sunday, president Trump tweeted out “Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look at what is happening to Europe and, indeed, the world – a horrible mess!” Trump is correct, if we do not get ahold of the immigration issue, we will end up like Europe and the rest of the world; with much destruction occurring. It is difficult to understand how people don’t see this. Many Democrats obviously do not see the horrifying destruction happening in Europe and the rest of the world, which is a result of weak borders and immigration.
Many attorney generals in all kinds of different states say that Trump’s order is “unconstitutional, un-American and unlawful.” How could protecting the American people in this way be unconstitutional? It should be a top priority to put first the needs of the American people, and that is indeed what Trump is intending to do; and so far, he is succeeding.
